Action Alliance National Chairman Denies Rochas Okorocha's In-law the Party’s Imo State Governorship Candidate
AA Rejects Uche Nwosu In Imo State
Dr. Tunde Anifowose-Kelani, National Chairman of the Action Alliance party (AA), has rejected Chief Uche Nwosu, son-in-law to the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha as the party’s governorship candidate in Imo.
Dr. Anifowose-Kelani, in a statement signed and made available to journalists in Abuja on Thursday, submitted that Nwosu is yet to become a registered member of the party, and hence can’t lay claim to the party’s flag in the upcoming 2019 general elections.
“Uche Nwosu is not yet a member of our party and that he cannot come through the back door to be a gubernatorial candidate of the party in Imo State” he said.
The AA National Chairman added that there are due processes that must be followed before any individual can become a registered member of the party.
He therefore advised Nwosu to follow due process if he wants to become a registered member of the Action Alliance party.
“People of such pedigree should know better that junk politicking which would not help towards 2019.”
Naija News recalls that Uche Nwosu and some other aggrieved members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Imo State, dumped the party over grievances of failing to secure the APC ticket for the 2019 elections.
Governor Okorocha on his part, has however vowed to remain with the APC and support President Buhari’s presidential ambition but also do all within his power to ensure Nwosu becomes Imo state governor after him.
