IPOB: Nnamdi Kanu, Calls Off Election Boycott, asks IPOB to come out en-mass and vote

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has called off the election boycott in the South-East region of Nigeria.
Kanu, against his earlier announcement, Thursday night encouraged members of the Biafra separatist group to take part in Nigeria’s general elections beginning on Saturday, February 16, 2019.
The IPOB leader making announcement via his Twitter handle, said: “Having confirmed this evening that all our preconditions and terms have been met, signed, sealed and delivered; I hereby call-off the election boycott across Biafraland on Feb. 16, 2019. I dedicate this historic victory to the formidable #IPOB family worldwide.”
Kanu, who has since been protesting against the Nigerian constitution which he said was unjust to the Igbo, had told members of his group to sit home on the election day, an action he said would be used as a form of referendum to determine their continued allegiance to Nigeria.

Kanu had insisted that “As long as Nigeria remain yoked to the 1999 Constitution written by half-baked Fulani military dictators, the benefits of Democracy can never be attained through the ballot box. This is an inescapable fact which even the most intellectually impoverished Nigerian cannot deny.”

In a broadcast, Kanu, the separatist group leader, said, “IPOB will liberate Biafra and we will not take part in any election until we get a referendum, and this is not negotiable, we will achieve this by every necessary means.”
Before he jumped bail, Kanu, the IPOB leader, is facing charges of treasonable felony at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Corroborating his leader, IPOB spokesman, Comrade Emma Powerful said in a statement, said, “The referendum is to ascertain number of those who want Nigeria politics and those who want Biafra freedom through a peaceful and democratic process for the sovereignty of our dear nation Biafra.”
