POLITICAL: APC has failed to tackle Insecurity, hardship – Atiku

Former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar yesterday berated the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for its inability to tackle the endemic insecurity and hardship in the country. Atiku promised that if elected in the forthcoming election, he will ensure security and provision of food on the table of the generality of Nigerians. Atiku said the level of insecurity and hunger in the land, brought on the people by the APC led Federal Government was unprecedented, adding however that if PDP takes over power, the hardship would be taken care of adequately. Atiku, who spoke in Hausa while addressing his party supporters at the Ahmadu Bello stadium, Kaduna, venue of the presidential campaign, said if APC had kept to its promise, insecurity and poverty wouldn’t have taken over the country the way it is today. He said: “There is insecurity in the North East, North West, South South, South West and all over the country.
There is hardship and insecurity. Do you need to vote for APC again that failed to keep its promises? “But if you vote for PDP, there will be security, food provision and many good things across the country. So, you have to vote for PDP from top to bottom, and from bottom to top to ensure prosperity”. Speaking just before Atiku, PDP National chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, disclosed that a vote for the APC is not a vote for President Buhari, but for the cabal, adding that the President has gone to sleep, and left Nigerians in the hand of the cabal, a situation that has brought about hardship, insecurity and poverty. Secondus said: “APC has been sleeping on duty. That is why Nigeria has been witnessing hunger and insecurity.
